Zoe-perry
Perry was born in Chicago to the actors Laurie Metcalf and Jeff Perry. Her first television appearances were as Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother portrayed her role. However, her parents did not permit her to perform until she reached the age of adulthood, for fear of the impact stress might have on their daughter. Perry says she didn't want to be an actor in highschool but decided to start performing as a form of social interaction during her time at Northwestern University when she switched from Boston University. When she graduated, Perry moved in New York to search for TV work, landing a few roles on series such as Law & Order: Criminal Intent however, her homesickness led Perry back home to California where she found theater jobs. She appeared on Broadway in The Other Place with her mother in 2013. In the year 2015, she was together with Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. Odyssey Theatre Ensemble Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played nine roles in the ABC thriller The Family, in 2016. In 2017 she had an recurring role in the ABC political thriller Scandal starring her father. The same year, she played a young version of Mary Cooper on Young Sheldon (a CBS spinoff The Big Bang Theory), portraying her mother as a young version. She was cast in the role despite having a close relationship with the character's family.
