Her childhood was a turbulent one. When she was only two, her mother abandoned her to get away from her abusive husband. Her mother returned in 1995 back to her home and was given full charge of the child. The situation did not work out as expected. Pickler was then 12 years old and was returned to her parents by justices. They took care of her till she was old enough to be an adult. Since she was not with the parents of her, Pickler was too busy as a mother to her kids. She admitted that she didn't find time to attend school and began learning to become a housewife in the early years. Pickler had been a cheerleader in both the middle and high school. North Stanly High School was the school where she graduated in the year 2004. Pickler was also a beauty contestant. She was named Miss Stanly Country.
